	White Noise 54
	 This event explored reel-to-reel tape loops, micro-cassette tape loops, and cassette tape loops. Performances came from @joe_hirst, @mattlewis.mattlewis, and @bleepsworld, working with tape loops created by students in the MFA Sound elective. @8ryan.w and @sung_hoooon worked with dictaphones, presenting an AV performance, while @shimternet brought in his cassette four-track. The event took place inside the Hockney Gallery at the Royal College of Art.

		<description>
	White Noise 53
	For this edition of White Noise we came together again at St John’s on Bethnal Green Church to collaborate and create multi-speaker experience for our audience.

	14 performers chose their own place in the church and listened carefully to reflect their sonic or visual contribution to the space. The idea was not to compose music together but to use sound as a tool to reflect our feelings and tell stories to the audience, creating an audio-visual narrative that could be explored by our visitors.

&#60;img width="1000" height="1333" width_o="1000" height_o="1333" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/37fd13d41547c1cda48e5593a983f6827d305ee1ae968888a50eb85b7d84627b/hannah_archambault_franziska_boehm.jpg" data-mid="238084488" border="0"  src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/37fd13d41547c1cda48e5593a983f6827d305ee1ae968888a50eb85b7d84627b/hannah_archambault_franziska_boehm.jpg" /&#62;

	Hannah Archambault &#38;amp;&#38;nbsp;Franziska Böhm performed together in costumes designed by&#38;nbsp;Alice Ortona Coles One of their performances focused on voice and had them both laying on their backs on the stairs up to the bell tower. This fitted their chosen location perfectly both sonically and visaully. Their voices leaking into the bell tower where Dominique Golden and Nik Clifford were performing was a really good combination.&#38;nbsp;The performance explored acoustic sound and wordless singing, with site-specific movement shaping the space. Two voices intertwined in improvised duets.

	Snippet of the performance by Silkess Demon that took place inside the Belfry. &#38;nbsp;The performance featured household ornaments—small birds and houses—transformed into ocarina-like instruments. Their sounds mingled with flute, voice, and layers of electronic manipulation, creating melodic synth atmospheres. The ornaments also came to life visually, used in shadow play alongside delicate paper constructions.︎︎︎

	Arkcy Tang set up himself inside the pulput, creating a monumental setting with massive projections on the ceilings of the church this in addition with live sonic explorations.︎︎︎&#38;nbsp;

	Ali Taie returned for the second time to a White Noise event to do a liveset on his eurorack modular synth.

	White Noise 51/52
	We ran our first-ever workshop and invited participants who were beginners or had never worked with sound. During the workshop, participants explored sound in a creative way. This was not a technical course, but an experiment where failure was not a problem, but an opportunity. The outcomes were shared in two public editions of White Noise.

	White Noise 50
	For this edition we explored club echologies, an evening with performances that explored the club not as a static venue but as a living, evolving ecosystem, where bodies, sound, architecture, technology, and community interacted dynamically.

	B.AIT WEST was an artist-led event focused on sound, moving image, and live performance techniques. Artists were invited to share experimental, developmental, and past work in preparation for future live performances or gallery shows.

	The event embraced BYO culture, with artists bringing their own output devices, small speakers, and power cables. Everyone performed simultaneously, with each artist selecting their location and proximity to others in the building. Sound bleed and feedback were part of the “everything, everywhere, all at once” experience. Output sessions typically lasted two hours, followed by a social gathering.
Co-curators included White Noise (Ronnie Deelen), Ealing Extranormal (Martin Lau), Speech Muse (Ethan Cohen), and Opposite Fields (Michael Speechley).

	White Noise 48
	For this edition of White Noise, we came together as a community in St John’s on Bethnal Green Church to collaborate and create a multi-speaker experience for our audience.

	Our participants chose their own place in the church and listened carefully to reflect their sonic or visual contribution to the space. The idea was not to compose music together but to use sound as a tool to reflect our feelings and tell stories to the audience, creating an audio-visual narrative that could be explored by our visitors. The format was BYOS - Bring Your Own Speaker, so if you worked with amplified sound, you needed to bring your own speaker. We welcomed acoustic sound too, as these work really well in the sonic environment of the church.

People who worked with light and projections needed to bring their own equipment as well, BYOB style. We had around 30 people responding to the open call of which 24 eventually participated and contributed to the event.

	White Noise 47
	October 2024 marked the first White Noise edition outside of London, this time in Plymouth at the Immersive Vision Centre. Dylan Yamada-Rice&#38;nbsp; was the initiator of organising this and bringing together White Noise with Andrew Prior (Hotwire) as an introduction to exploring the future of screens. Hotwire has run events like: workshops in coding, taking a piano apart and recording the results, making instruments from rubber bands, solar panels, lasers, piezos, group crits, talks and performances. A great local initiative that linked up nicely with what White Noise stands for.

This edition took place in the University of Plymouth's Immersive Vision Theatre, a permanent full dome situated in the middle of campus, where we had an evening of audiovisual improvisation inspired by Stan Van Der Beek’s&#38;nbsp;Movie-Drome. This event was in collaboration with Dylan Yamada_Rice, Andy Prior (Hot Wire) , Mike Phillips, Musaab Garghouti

Dylan made the poster inspired by a collective idea that arose from a staff away day that the future of screens might not be ‘bigger, brighter, faster’ but could include hacking, making, community, sustainability and analogue materials.

The event was hosted by Ronnie Deelen (White Noise) and Andy Prior (Hotwire~) as the first edition of the Future Screeninitiative—an evening of audiovisual improvisation inspired by Stan Van Der Beek’s Movie-Drome.

It was a Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB)-style event, but with a strong emphasis on sound as well as image, set in the University of Plymouth’s Immersive Vision Theatre. Participants brought raw materials—moving or still images, sounds, sound-making tools, laptops, and Bluetooth speakers—to contribute to the experience.

	White Noise 46
	The 46th edition marked the first “club” edition of White Noise taking things into the realm of experimental club music. Four quarters bar in London’s Peckham with its basement club area was the ideal stage to run the event. The club context asked for a different approach of the performers which was a successful experiment most likely to be repeated in the future potentially focussing on advanced club sound systems.&#38;nbsp;

Visuals done by michael_speechley for this evening. @jane.lee.jane started the evening with a live coding performance,&#38;nbsp; followed by @duan9ming who did an ambient live soundscape using Ableton live. @sajgemusic did beats from Ableton. @ushara_x &#38;amp; @shimternet combined forces doing experimental beats using cassette tape loops&#38;nbsp; and live coding. @thatwhichcrawls produced a live-set on elektron gear. @barneykass beats using elements of field recordings, synths and samples. @francoismenes complete daw-less performance with 2 Sqaure metres of gear. Finally @bleepsworld on modular and KO2. Overall a great evening with a good turn up and a very varied approach to club music.
